Job Description/Overview:
The Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to provide high-level clerical and administrative support for the Association. This role involves performing complex tasks to assist the administrative team, including word processing, database management, report preparation, and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the Association, including preparation of vouchers and maintenance of administrative files.
Assist with event registration and preparation, including refreshments and room setup.
Manage records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Prepare various documents, including reports, brochures, newsletters, and promotional materials.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel as needed.
Support grant management and assist with financial documentation.
Collaborate with diverse audiences and maintain effective relationships with community organizations.
Qualifications:
Required: Associate’s Degree or equivalent education; GED/High School Diploma with 1 year of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Excel) and Windows-based software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
Preferred: Experience working in teams and collaborating with volunteers; basic bookkeeping skills; website maintenance knowledge.
Experience:
Relevant experience in administrative roles is required.
Experience in a diverse environment is preferred.
Skills:
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in word processing and database management.
Ability to relate effectively to co-workers and community members.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
