Job Description/Overview:
West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking individuals, with or without healthcare experience, to join as Nursing Assistants. No previous experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. The role involves supporting ward teams with direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene, and helping patients with mobility and dietary needs. This is an opportunity to start a career in healthcare or build upon existing experience. Permanent full and part-time roles are available across various medical and surgical wards.
Key Responsibilities:
– Measure and observe patients’ physical condition (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, etc.)
– Assist patients with personal hygiene (washing, dressing, etc.)
– Support patients with eating and drinking as per care plans
– Assist with patient mobility using safe manual handling techniques
– Help patients use toilet facilities
– Maintain and monitor stock levels on the ward
Qualifications:
No specific qualifications are required as training will be provided. Candidates must be willing to achieve the Care Certificate and participate in ongoing professional development.
Experience:
– No previous healthcare experience required
– Experienced candidates will have opportunities to build their careers
