Job Description/Overview:
East Sussex County Council is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker for their Respite Service in Bexhill. The service offers short-term breaks for individuals with learning disabilities, providing a range of activities both within the premises and the local community. The Support Worker will assist guests emotionally and physically in their daily routines, ensuring their safety and well-being, especially during the night.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide practical and emotional support to guests, ensuring their safety and comfort.
– Assist with personal care tasks and medication administration.
– Perform security checks and uphold cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
– Support guests in leisure activities and ensure their feedback is used to improve services.
– Maintain a safe and supportive environment for guests with learning disabilities.
Qualifications:
– NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Care or willingness to work towards a Care Certificate.
Experience:
– Experience in a care setting is desirable but not mandatory.
Skills:
– Ability to provide personal and emotional care.
– Strong communication skills and empathy towards individuals with learning disabilities.
– Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
