Job Description/Overview:  

This role offers a career-defining opportunity within a small team of dedicated teachers and practitioners. You will contribute to a dynamic programme of practice- and research-led teaching focused on the publishing industry. The role involves delivering a postgraduate module covering topics such as marketing and publicity of books, global sales, distribution of published products, and the international trade of intellectual property. You will use a variety of technologies to provide engaging and practical learning experiences that translate into real-world skills. 

 

You will also support students in selecting dissertation topics and provide hands-on workshops to guide their independent work.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

– Plan and deliver lectures on marketing and publicity within the publishing industry.  

– Assess postgraduate students’ performance through assignments and practicals.  

– Guide students in dissertation topic selection and preparation.  

– Promote professional practices and employability in the publishing sector.

 

Qualifications:  

– A postgraduate degree in a related field (PhD preferred).  

– Expertise in marketing theory and the creation of marketing assets.  

– Familiarity with the evolving landscape of the publishing industry.

 

Experience:  

– Professional experience in a commercial publishing environment.  

– Experience in teaching is preferred but not mandatory.

 

Skills:  

– Strong knowledge of the publishing industry and current trends.  

– Excellent communication and teaching skills.  

– Ability to inspire and mentor students.
