Job Description/Overview
The Nursing Associate role is designed to bridge the gap between health and care assistants and registered nurses. Nursing Associates provide person-centred, safe, and compassionate care, working as part of interdisciplinary teams and contributing to the care of people with complex needs.
Main Duties
– Assist registered nurses in the assessment, planning, management, and evaluation of patient care.
– Perform and record clinical observations, including measuring vital signs and blood glucose levels.
– Undertake venepuncture and routine ECG recording.
– Contribute to the development of nursing processes and care plans.
Qualifications
Essential
– Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
– Nursing Associate Foundation Degree or equivalent
– GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 or equivalent
Previous Experience
Essential
– Experience working in teams under supervision
– Experience providing and receiving complex sensitive information
Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude
Essential
– Awareness of dignity in care and the scope of the Nursing Associate role
– Knowledge of NMC professional standards and procedures
– Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
– Ability to support and role model for trainee nursing associates and other learners
Additional Information
– This role requires a DBS check.
– Skilled worker sponsorship is available for international applicants.
– skilled worker applicants must provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided in for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
Salary
£26,530 – £29,114 / Year
