Job Description/Overview:
The Front Desk Hotel Clerk is responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and providing information about hotel facilities. This role also involves resolving complaints, performing light housekeeping, and clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
– Register arriving guests and assign rooms
– Resolve complaints and claims
– Process group arrivals and departures
– Take, cancel, and change room reservations
– Provide information on hotel facilities and services
– Process guests’ departures, calculate charges, and receive payments
– Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments
– Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
– Answer telephone and relay calls and messages
– Clerical duties (faxing, filing, photocopying)
Qualifications:
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
7 months to less than 1 year
Skills:
– Knowledge of word processing software, computerised bookkeeping systems, spreadsheets, and internet
– Familiarity with Opera or similar systems
– Strong client focus and excellent oral communication
– Dependability, flexibility, and organisational skills
