Job Description/Overview
The Admissions Director (Non-Nurse) is responsible for facilitating and overseeing the admissions process in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. This position plays a key role in managing patient admissions, conducting facility tours, and maintaining strong relationships with the medical community.
Key Responsibilities
– Gather and enter all necessary admissions paperwork
– Approve or deny patient applications within 2 hours
– Plan follow-up visits and interviews with patients
– Conduct facility tours for potential patients, families, and visitors
– Recruit, select, train, and supervise admissions staff (if applicable)
– Manage the department within budget
– Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude
– Assist in patient evacuation if needed
– Exhibit regular attendance and demonstrate strong reasoning and judgement skills
– Work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
Qualifications
– High school diploma or equivalent required
– Healthcare experience preferred
– Familiarity with the professional medical community
Specific Requirements
– Ability to make independent decisions
– Knowledge of laws and regulations governing post-acute care facilities
– Adherence to company policies, including confidentiality, harassment, and compliance
– Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including sitting, standing, lifting, and moving throughout the workday
– Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
