Job Description/Overview:
American Express is seeking a Director level Staff Architect to lead a small team of high-performing engineers/solution architects within the Salesforce Center of Excellence (CoE). This role involves collaborating with delivery teams, stakeholders, and enterprise architects to establish standards, enforce best practices, and implement architectural strategies for Salesforce adoption across the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce architecture and integration, with the ability to handle complex solutions and contribute to technology direction.
Key Responsibilities:
– Spend 25% of time on hands-on technical projects, recommending solutions based on research and introspection.
– Design solutions providing frameworks, interfaces, and services that are reusable across the portfolio.
– Ensure architecture alignment with enterprise standards and guidelines.
– Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure adherence to technical specifications.
– Contribute to technology direction and influence implementation for business improvements.
– Work with functional teams to align solutions and extend business product innovation through technology.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics preferred.
– 10+ years of experience in software engineering and data services.
– 8+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce.
– Expertise in managing complex integration solutions, including APIs and data integration layers.
– Experience with design, implementation, and architecture governance in a large corporate environment.
– Proven experience in coaching and mentoring engineering talent.
Experience:
– Extensive experience in software engineering, Salesforce, and integration solutions.
Skills:
– Strong leadership and visionary capabilities.
– Ability to manage and implement complex technical solutions.
