Job Description/Overview:
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital is recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join their teams across various wards including Orthopaedic Wards, Medical Rehabilitation Ward, and Spinal Injuries Acute and Rehabilitation Wards. Both part-time and full-time roles are available. The Trust offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for development and career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist patients with daily living activities.
– Help maintain and improve patient mobility.
– Provide patient care including manual handling.
– Maintain skin integrity and hygiene.
– Assist with dietary needs and monitor intake.
– Use and maintain medical equipment.
– Respect patients’ customs, culture, and beliefs.
– Handle waste body fluids and take specimens.
– Escort patients and assist during medical examinations.
– Perform basic life support and nursing observations.
– Participate in training and appraisals.
Qualifications:
– Experience as a healthcare assistant or in a caring role.
– Basic life support skills.
– Ability to handle medical equipment and provide patient care.
– Eligibility to work in the UK (including those requiring Skilled Worker Sponsorship).
Experience:
– Relevant experience in healthcare settings or caring roles.
Skills:
– Patient care and manual handling.
– Basic life support and observation skills.
– Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
