Job Description/Overview:
The Stewarding Manager oversees daily kitchen utility operations and staff, including dish room operations, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance, banquet plating, and food running. This role involves supervising non-cooking kitchen staff, managing supplies and inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and improving guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget.
Key Responsibilities:
– Manage and order supplies for kitchen operations.
– Ensure workers have necessary equipment and uniforms.
– Schedule and oversee kitchen activities and events.
– Conduct inventories and inspections of supplies and equipment.
– Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and legal regulations.
– Lead and supervise the kitchen team to meet departmental goals.
– Monitor and improve guest service and satisfaction.
Qualifications needed:
– High school diploma or GED; or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
– 4 years of experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area; or 2 years of relevant experience with a 2-year degree.
Experience:
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Skills:
– Strong leadership and communication skills.
– Ability to manage inventory and ensure compliance with standards.
– Proficiency in handling kitchen equipment and maintaining cleanliness.
– Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
