Job Description:
The Immigration Law Specialist plays a vital role in the legal and compliance industry in Dubai. This position focuses on providing expert legal advice and guidance on matters related to immigration law. Key responsibilities include:
– Visa and Work Permit Applications: Assist clients in preparing and submitting visa and work permit applications for foreign employees. Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations, including document verification, eligibility checks, and coordination with relevant government authorities.
– Immigration Compliance: Stay updated with the latest immigration laws and regulations in the UAE. Advise clients on compliance requirements for employee sponsorship, visa renewals, and related processes.
– Immigration Strategies: Develop immigration strategies and solutions based on clients’ needs and requirements. Advise on talent acquisition, workforce mobility, and visa sponsorship.
– Employer Sponsorship: Guide clients on the legal obligations and responsibilities of sponsoring foreign workers. Ensure compliance with sponsorship requirements, including financial obligations, labour market testing, and Emiratisation policies.
– Immigration Documentation: Review and draft immigration-related documents, including employment contracts, sponsorship agreements, and NOC (No Objection Certificate) letters. Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
– Compliance Audits: Conduct immigration compliance audits to assess adherence to immigration laws and regulations. Identify potential risks or non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
– Workforce Mobility: Advise clients on employee transfers, secondments, and mobility within and outside the UAE. Ensure compliance with immigration regulations for temporary or international assignments.
– Government Liaison: Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities and immigration departments. Coordinate and follow up on client matters, including visa applications, document submissions, and resolution of immigration-related issues.
– Policy and Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in immigration policies, regulations, and procedures. Provide timely updates and guidance to clients regarding any impact on their immigration processes or workforce planning.
– Client Consultation and Representation: Provide legal advice on complex immigration matters, including potential challenges, compliance issues, and strategies for resolving disputes. Represent clients in immigration-related hearings, appeals, or legal proceedings if required.
Desired Candidate Profile:
– Nationality: Any
– Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field; specialisation in immigration law preferred.
– Experience: Proven experience in immigration law, preferably in the UAE or a similar jurisdiction.
– Skills: In-depth knowledge of UAE immigration laws, regulations, and procedures; familiarity with compliance requirements for various visa categories; strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills; attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation; proficiency in legal research tools and databases; ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements.
– Languages: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
– Additional Skills: Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters; strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
