Job Description/Overview:
The T-Spoon Cafe is seeking a skilled and experienced chef to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in modern Australian cuisine and will be responsible for maintaining high food quality, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee recipes, standards, portion sizes, and presentation of dishes
– Assist in menu creation considering food and labour costs
– Monitor food preparation and presentation
– Set daily and weekly production levels
– Manage stock levels and food costs
– Implement food hygiene standards and health and safety requirements
– Supervise and train junior kitchen staff
– Handle food complaints and maintain high standards of food preparation
Qualifications/Experience:
– Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality
– Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in modern Australian cuisine in Australia
Skills:
– Strong organisational and leadership skills
– Proficiency in food preparation and presentation
– Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively
