Job Description/Overview:
Join the Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University and help advance the Lab’s marketing and communications efforts. As an Email Marketing Specialist, you will develop and manage email marketing campaigns, nurture leads, and support teams across various projects aimed at converting leads into customers, members, donors, and citizen science contributors.
You will work closely with the strategic communications team, data analytics team, and other departments to ensure the successful execution of campaigns while aligning with the Lab’s mission to advance bird conservation and education.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and execute email marketing campaigns
– Manage CRM and develop a customer lead pipeline
– Create content for email campaigns and landing pages
– Collaborate with various teams to achieve marketing goals
– Integrate the Lab’s brand into all marketing and communications efforts
– Provide solutions to marketing and communication-related activities
Qualifications Needed:
– Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
– 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing and project management
– Knowledge of HTML, CSS, CMS, and CRM platforms
– Experience with email systems like Hubspot, MailChimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud
– Familiarity with SEO and digital content optimization
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong multitasking and organizational skills
Experience:
– Digital marketing and communications: 3-5 years
– Experience working with nonprofit organizations is a plus
Skills:
– HTML, CSS, content management, CRM systems
– Knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms
– Design software skills (Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator)
– Strong attention to detail and customer-centric mindset
