Job Description/Overview:
We are hiring a Senior LPG Driver on a permanent basis in our Wellington depot. This is hands-on role responsible for a wide variety of operational and administrative tasks. Our Senior Driver is an all-rounder who also handles LPG filling and delivery when required.
We work early hours which usually means 6:00am – 6:30am start times and mid-afternoon finishes, but there’s some flexibility available for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient, friendly delivery of LPG cylinders to residential and business customers while managing personal and team KPIs
- Oversee staff on-call rosters and holiday allowances
- Respond to gas outs and unscheduled deliveries as necessary
- Customer service is part of the job – you might need to answer questions, handle escalations or provide solutions while out delivering or over the phone at the depot
- Keep the depot running smoothly – this includes planning of vehicle and equipment maintenance and appropriate documentation
Qualifications needed
- Around 3 years of Class 2 driving experience, ideally with a Dangerous Goods endorsement
- Some leadership experience in any industry would be an advantage
- Confidence using a computer including email applications and other essential office platforms
- The ability to manage up and down effectively with strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- Excellent adherence to health & safety policies
