Job Title: Long Haul Driver
Location: Bedford, NS

Job Details:
Pay: $25.00 hourly / 40 to 60 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent employment, Full time
Shift and Schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Early Morning, Morning

Key Responsibilities:
– Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
– Address customers’ complaints or concerns with professionalism.
– Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
– Load and unload goods.
– Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
– Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
– Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
– Perform preventive maintenance.
– Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
– Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Qualifications Needed:
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
– 1 to less than 7 months of experience.
– Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: AZ class license, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Experience:
– Experience and specialization in documentation knowledge (driver logbook, inspection report, trip reports).
Skills:
– Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
– Willingness to travel cross-border, internationally, and for extended periods.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Physically capable of handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Salary/Compensation:
– $25.00 hourly
