The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Manager – Sales & Marketing to join our dynamic team in Winnipeg. This role is essential for driving national and global growth through strategic sales and marketing initiatives. As a Strategic Manager, you will leverage your extensive experience in the agricultural industry to develop and execute growth strategies, manage client relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to address growth challenges, increase market share, and enhance company profitability. Identify gaps in sales regions and design targeted strategies to fill those gaps.
Business Development: Build and nurture relationships with clients, distribution partners, retail locations, and key stakeholders. Present company value propositions to secure new business opportunities and drive sales growth.
Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership for the sales and marketing team. Develop and implement effective sales initiatives, set clear goals, and ensure the achievement of targets.
Client and Market Analysis’ Conduct research to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and industry trends. Analyze high-level customer requirements and adjust strategies to meet those needs.
Marketing Strategies: Contribute to and implement inbound marketing strategies that increase customer awareness and engagement. Collaborate with team members to create innovative marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
Performance Measurement: Measure and evaluate sales activities and results. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data, and make informed recommendations for improvements.
Training and Development: Recruit, train, and motivate sales professionals to achieve high performance levels. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary degree in Business or a relevant discipline.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level sales or business development role within the agricultural industry is required. Proven track record of creating and executing successful business development strategies.
Skills and Expertise:
– Expertise in agricultural sales and marketing with a deep understanding of the industry.
– Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
– Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in recruiting, training, and motivating sales teams.
– Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
– Exceptional customer service skills with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
