About the Role
Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Content Update Editor for People to join their remote Quality Team. In this role, you will be responsible for revising and updating existing articles to enhance the reader experience, improve traffic, and ensure content accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for entertainment, pop culture, and celebrity content.
The role is a part-time, remote assignment with a pay rate of $28-30/hr. You must be located in the United States and able to commit to at least 15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Updates & Revisions:
- Revise outdated information, polish dull or error-ridden copy, and expand articles to ensure they are detailed and comprehensive.
- Perform fact-checking and copyediting, ensuring that all revisions adhere to the PEOPLE brand guidelines.
- Research & Writing:
- Conduct research and write new content or perform rewrites as required according to project instructions.
- Ensure all content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the voice of the PEOPLE brand.
Skills & Experience
- Writing/Editing Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience writing or editing entertainment, pop culture, or celebrity-focused content.
- Strong writing and editing skills with experience in AP Style.
- Familiarity with the PEOPLE brand and the entertainment/celebrity pop culture space.
- Research Skills:
- Ability to research and source trustworthy and reliable information online.
- Technical Skills:
- Comfortable using content management systems (CMS).
- Proficient with a smartphone, computer (not a tablet), and secure internet connection.
- Attention to Detail:
- Highly detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of working independently and accurately.
