Job Description/Overview:
NV Energy is seeking a Software Engineer I to participate in designing, programming, testing, documenting, and implementing computer applications and systems. The role involves enhancing existing systems, providing customer support, and collaborating with IT teams to identify and resolve technology deficiencies while ensuring secure development lifecycle practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, code, test, document, and maintain application programs.
Provide customer support for packaged software and interfaces.
Perform software development, ensuring optimization and interoperability.
Collaborate with vendors to review and integrate products.
Stay updated with industry software development standards and techniques.
Develop and maintain documentation for software development and systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in programming in web development environments.
Knowledge of integration, application security models, and development tools.
Familiarity with relational databases, structured analysis concepts, and software design patterns.
Basic understanding of deployment topologies and secure systems.
Experience:
At least 1 year of business software application development experience.
Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Oracle SQL.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative, zero-code-ownership environment.
