We are looking for a Head of Product Design to lead our Product Design team and contribute to our vision and strategy. You will report directly to the VP of Product and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products.
Position Overview
As the Head of Product Design, you will oversee the entire product development process from vision to delivery, coaching and guiding a team of eight Product Designers. You will ensure a world-class user experience by collaborating with key stakeholders, challenging product features, and upholding design standards.
Key Responsibilities
Within 1 Month:
- Meet your team and connect with other teams at 360Learning.
- Familiarize yourself with our Convexity culture.
- Learn the basics of our product offerings.
- Discover our design system and specific design practices and processes.
- Get acquainted with the tools and processes used in design.
Within 3 Months:
- Gain a deep understanding of our users and their needs.
- Familiarize yourself with the existing roadmap and product vision.
- Understand the collaboration dynamics within the product team (tech, PM, design).
- Coach the Product Designers on their ongoing projects.
- Advocate for a great user experience (UX) mindset within the Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
Within 6 Months:
- Define Product Design team OKRs in alignment with company strategy.
- Develop and begin executing your Design strategy and roadmap.
- Utilize data and research to define and articulate design goals aligned with overall product and company objectives.
- Ensure team well-being, fostering career development, coaching, and mentoring tailored to individual goals.
- Continuously elevate design practices and enhance collaboration with stakeholders.
- Own and measure Design KPIs, using them to inform decisions and celebrate the impact of the Design team on the business.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality products and features on time and within budget, managing the entire process.
- Ability to collaborate with Engineering and Product Management teams to discuss UX concepts, remove roadblocks, and evaluate ideas with data-driven arguments.
- Experience managing large-scoped B2B/C SaaS products.
- Adaptability to changes in work processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong advocacy for a UX-driven vision.
- Excellent communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Leadership and conflict resolution skills necessary for guiding a diverse team.
- Experience in coaching, managing, and recruiting Product Designers.
- Enthusiasm for our product and its mission.
- Fluent in English (US/UK); proficiency in French (level B2 or equivalent) is a plus.
