Position: Certified Nurse Assistant

Job Description/Overview:
Assists in providing basic hygiene, promoting nutrition, and maintaining skin integrity under the supervision of a registered nurse (R.N.). Performs routine data collection and assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and document basic patient care activities relating to hygiene, feeding, safety, skin integrity, elimination, and comfort.
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
Ambulate patients and assist in general movement for activity/exercises directed by the R.N.
Communicate pertinent information relating to the patient’s status to the registered nurse.
Respond to medical and environmental emergencies.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide basic patient care to diverse patient populations.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and recent work-related experience.
Certification & Licensure:
CNA – Certified Nurse Assistant
BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association)
Experience:
One year of acute care experience is preferred.
Skills:
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Customer-service-oriented attitude.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
