Job Description/Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Maternity Support Worker to join the Continuity of Carer Team in an enhanced role. This position involves providing high-level care to women and babies, requiring regular home visits. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure compassionate, family-centred maternity care.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist the multi-disciplinary team in delivering high-quality maternity care
– Educate and support women throughout their maternity journey
– Provide clinical, physical, psychological, and emotional care and support
– Ensure women receive necessary information for informed choices regarding newborn screening, infant feeding, and postnatal care
– Signpost to wider support organisations as necessary
Qualifications:
– Experience as a Maternity Support Worker
– Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience:
– Relevant experience in maternity care is preferred
Skills:
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Compassionate and supportive approach to patient care
– Ability to educate and empower women regarding their health
