Job Description/Overview:
The Nurse Aide will be responsible for assisting patients with personal and medical care tasks in a nursing home or home for the aged. This role involves helping with patient activities, maintaining cleanliness and organisation, and providing comfort and care to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
– Accompany patients during outdoor recreational activities.
– Assist with cleaning, sterilising, setting up, and assembling medical equipment.
– Perform patient care and personal care tasks, including supplying and emptying bedpans.
– Take patients’ vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
– Serve meal trays and assist with feeding patients.
– Deliver messages, reports, and specimens between departments.
– Make beds and maintain cleanliness in patients’ rooms.
– Answer call signals and respond to patients’ needs.
Qualifications:
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
– Basic understanding of English or French.
Experience:
2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Skills:
– Strong attention to detail.
– Ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
– Compassionate and patient-focused.
– Good communication and interpersonal skills.
