Job Description/Overview:
The Plumber will handle the installation and repair of plumbing systems for various projects. This includes reading blueprints, preparing tenders, and ensuring systems meet specified requirements. The role is considered a green job, contributing to positive environmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
– Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing system layout
– Prepare tenders and quotations
– Instruct apprentices
– Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and fixtures
– Cut openings in walls and floors for pipes and fittings
– Join pipes using various techniques
– Test pipes for leaks
– Estimate costs and materials
– Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes
Qualifications:
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience:
– 1 year to less than 2 years in plumbing
Skills:
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints
– Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment
– Strong problem-solving and estimation skills
– Good physical stamina
