Job Description/Overview:
The Hospitality Attendant will deliver and serve room service orders to patients in a professional, efficient, and timely manner. The Hospitality Attendant is accountable for the required patient identification, patient confidentiality, accuracy, infection control practices that ensure food safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients and assemble food items according to standardized recipes and guidelines.
- Serving Food: Serve food to customers or clients in a timely and professional manner, ensuring portion control and food presentation standards are met.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the food service area, including equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
- Stocking Supplies: Ensure that food supplies, utensils, and other necessary items are adequately stocked and replenished as needed.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers, taking orders, answering questions, and addressing any concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
- Cash Handling: Operate cash registers or point-of-sale systems, handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Compliance with Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Assisting with Inventory Management: Help with the inventory process by counting stock, recording usage, and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
- Assisting in the Kitchen: Support kitchen staff with various tasks, such as washing dishes, chopping vegetables, or plating food.
- Managing Waste: Dispose of waste and recyclables appropriately, and ensure the dining and kitchen areas are free from clutter and debris.
Qualifications needed
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competency as required for job title and the unit/area(s) of assignment.
- Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension/expression.
- Ability to manage a challenging work environment related to changing customer needs.
