Job Description/Overview:
We are seeking a talented Performance Test Specialist to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical applications within the Federal Government. This role involves contributing to the development and support of applications integrated with digital identity frameworks. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in performance testing, automation tools, and Agile methodologies to support secure and efficient digital delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage automated test playbooks, scenarios, and scripts for specific releases, ensuring thorough performance testing and coverage.
- Engage with multiple agile delivery teams to understand the scope of product releases, ensuring alignment between testing, development, and business objectives.
- Leverage automation testing tools such as Performance Centre, LoadRunner, and JMeter to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Automate performance testing and integrate with deployment pipelines to ensure seamless and continuous testing cycles.
- Carry out performance testing on AWS cloud services, including Containers, EC2 instances, RDS instances, and lambda functions.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, CloudWatch, Splunk, OSFA, ExtraHop, Dynatrace, and SQL Profiler to track performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Conduct thorough analysis of performance bottlenecks, providing evidence-based recommendations and pathways for improvement.
- Participate in Agile workflows, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to ensure continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Develop and refine SQL queries on both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle servers to support testing and data analysis.
- Report and track the resolution of issues identified during automated testing, assisting in issue triaging and ensuring timely fixes.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, business areas, and IT staff to coordinate testing activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications needed
- Strong knowledge of development languages and frameworks, i.e Java.
- Experience in performance testing and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proficiency with performance testing tools like Performance Centre, LoadRunner, and JMeter.
- Skills in PowerShell, VB Scripting, and Java programming.
- Experience in automating performance testing and integrating with deployment pipelines.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including Containers, EC2, RDS, and Lambda functions.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, CloudWatch, Splunk, OSFA, ExtraHop, Dynatrace, and SQL Profiler.
- Ability to analyze bottlenecks and provide evidence-based solutions.
- Experience in capacity and NFR (Non-Functional Requirements) modeling.
- Agile working experience.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle servers
