Job Description/Overview:
Due to staff movement and our services’ continuing growth, we seek a skilled, energetic and creative chef /cook to prepare meals for the children attending the Campbell Early Childhood Education and Care Centre (ECEC).
This role would suit an experienced chef with a knowledge of nutrition for children and a good awareness of how to accommodate a range of dietary and allergy-based requirements in their practice. This role is inclusive of being responsible for stock ordering and all on site meals preparation. We require the cook/chef to have all appropriate food safety qualifications, (or the ability to obtain).
Key Responsibilities
- Working autonomously, you will be wholly responsible for creating a hygienic and safe cooking environment and nutritious meals for children, including shopping / stock ordering, and food preparation.
- You will be working with a close-knit team of professional early childhood educators and would be of great benefit if you had an interest in developing cooking programs with children and the community.
- As an important part of the services team, you will need good communication skills enabling conversations with children, parents and educators.
Qualifications needed
- Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery or relevant experience
- Food safety supervisor Certificate or ability to obtain
- Working with Vulnerable People Check
