What is a USA Visit Visa?
A USA visit visa, officially known as a B-2 Tourist Visa, is a non-immigrant visa for people who want to visit the United States temporarily for tourism, vacation, or to see family and friends. It is also used for medical treatment or attending social events and short courses that are not for credit.
Step 1: Determine if You Need a Visa
Not everyone needs a visa to visit the U.S. Citizens from countries in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) can visit for up to 90 days without a visa, but must apply for ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). If your country is not on the VWP list, you must apply for a B-2 visa.
Step 2: Complete the DS-160 Online Form
The DS-160 is the official application form for a USA visitor visa.

Step 3: Pay the Visa Application Fee
The current visa application fee (as of April 2025) is $185 USD. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid before scheduling your interview.

Payment methods vary by country. You might be able to pay online, by bank transfer, or at a designated bank.

After payment, keep your receipt number, which you will need to book your visa interview.
Step 4: Schedule a Visa Interview
After paying the visa fee, you must book your interview at the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your country.

Create a profile on your country’s U.S. Visa Information and Appointment website.

Enter your DS-160 confirmation number and receipt number.

Choose an available date and time for your interview.

Step 5: Prepare the Required Documents
Here are the basic documents you must bring to your visa interview:

A valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay).

Step 7: Wait for Visa Processing
