Position Overview
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinical and administrative operations in a remote environment. This role involves managing medical records, completing paperwork, providing referrals to specialists, handling prior authorizations, virtually greeting patients before their visits with neurologists, and performing other duties within the Medical Assistant scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocacy & Patient Support: Provide support on behalf of patients and families with clinical providers, billing, insurance companies, and other partners while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Medical Record Management: Oversee medical record retrieval and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with privacy standards.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain seamless coordination, ensuring effective patient care and a positive experience.
- Referral Management: Assist in managing and coordinating referrals to specialists as required.
- Communication: Establish positive relationships with internal teams, medical partners, and community organizations, and act as a representative of SynaptiCure.
- Quality Assurance: Follow standardized procedures for operational efficiency and high-quality documentation.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Active Medical Assistant Certification
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Preferred:
- Experience handling and reviewing medical records
- Experience in startups or fast-growing organizations
- Experience managing referrals and care coordination
- Exceptional communication skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
