The Role:
AG1 is seeking a passionate and innovative Director, Social Media to lead and shape our brand’s presence across social media platforms. You’ll be responsible for driving social channel strategies, overseeing channel programming, and working closely with the Paid Social team to optimize performance. You’ll manage AG1’s presence on Instagram and YouTube—our “second and third homepages”—while developing new strategies for emerging platforms like TikTok and X.

Reporting to the VP of Brand and Creative, this role will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for creating data-driven social media strategies, testing new approaches, and ensuring our social efforts align with overall business goals. You will manage and mentor a high-performing team, foster creative ingenuity, and drive results that resonate with AG1’s growing community.

Responsibilities:

  • Channel Strategy & Execution: Lead strategy, execution, and measurement of organic social media channels, including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, and more.
  • Content Development: Develop data-driven strategies and oversee creative development and programming to drive growth and engage customers.
  • Creative Innovation: Drive disruptive creative strategies that place AG1 in the cultural conversation and foster earned media opportunities through original posts, partnerships, and memorable customer interactions.
  • Programming Calendar: Build and manage a social-first content process and 365 programming calendar in collaboration with Brand and Creative teams.
  • Content Playbook: Evaluate and refine the content playbook to ensure high-quality storytelling and alignment with brand moments.
  • Metrics & Measurement: Track key performance metrics, develop a social media measurement framework, and optimize performance in partnership with the Analytics team.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor the social media team while managing external partnerships, freelancers, and vendors.
  • Global Strategy: Collaborate with regional leads to ensure cohesive social strategies across platforms globally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience leading social media at top-tier brands.
  • Proven track record of creative innovation and scaling social media engagement.
  • Experience with DTC, wellness, and lifestyle brands preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership skills with a GM mindset, able to build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Data-driven and creative, with the ability to balance brand, business, and personnel needs.
  • Strong cross-functional operator, comfortable working with multiple teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Passionate about social media, brand strategy, wellness, and culture.
  • A proactive communicator with strong organizational awareness through documentation and reporting.
  • A full life outside of work, with personal passions and hobbies.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation packages. For this role, the base salary range is $141,000 – $175,000, with performance bonuses and stock option allocations for eligible positions.
