Job Description/Overview:
To provide ongoing technical support to staff and students in the Construction Crafts Department, primarily within the Plumbing Department, while also supporting other trade areas as required.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide technical support for Construction Craft staff and students.
– Supervise workshop spaces, maintaining tools and equipment.
– Prepare plans and schedules for planned activities.
– Liaise with the Deputy Head of School on inventory management.
– Collaborate with the Technician Supervisor on facility upgrades.
– Demonstrate equipment use and instruct staff/students on safe operation.
– Conduct regular maintenance and keep accurate records.
– Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
– Order replacements for stock and consumables in line with college regulations.
– Address customer service issues and resolve complaints.
– Participate in staff development and training.
Qualifications:
Experience in a construction-related field is preferred, with knowledge of plumbing and technical support.
Experience:
Previous experience in a technical support role within a construction or educational environment is desirable.
Skills:
– Strong technical knowledge in plumbing and construction crafts.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to manage inventory and conduct risk assessments.
– Proficient in maintaining equipment and workshop facilities.
