Job Description/Overview
Salisbury Cathedral is looking to recruit a skilled Stonemason to join their Works Department team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of stonework projects, both for the Cathedral and external projects. Ideally, candidates should have experience with ecclesiastical architectural stonework and a strong knowledge of the stonemason’s craft.
Key Responsibilities
– Carry out stonework for the Cathedral’s projects and external ventures.
– Ensure high standards of craftsmanship in all stonework performed.
– Collaborate with the team of masons to meet project goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
– Proven experience in stonemasonry, particularly with ecclesiastical architectural stonework.
– Strong understanding and knowledge of the stonemason’s craft.
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience
– Prior experience in working on architectural stonework is preferred, especially on ecclesiastical buildings.
Skills
– Attention to detail.
– Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
– Passion for producing high-quality work.
