Receptionist/Clerical Assistant

Job Description/Overview:  

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Receptionist/Clerical Assistant to provide effective communication and support within the chemotherapy unit. This role requires empathy and the ability to handle sensitive situations with patients, relatives, and visitors.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

– Meet and greet patients attending the chemotherapy unit.  

– Handle enquiries and provide reassurance to distressed individuals.  

– Access and amend patient demographic details using the Careflow system.  

– Communicate effectively with patients and staff, both verbally and in writing.  

– Enter patient appointments into the Careflow system.  

– Address queries from patients, GPs, and other service users.  

– Liaise with clinical staff regarding patient queries and issues.  

– Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to relevant policies.  

– Undertake surveys/audits as required.

 

Qualifications:  

– Experience in a reception or clerical role within a healthcare setting is preferred.  

 

Experience:  

– Previous experience with patient information systems is advantageous.  

 

Skills:  

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

– Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.  

– Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
