Job Description/Overview:
1167890 B.C Ltd. is looking for a plumber to join their team in Surrey, BC. The role involves reading blueprints, joining pipes, and instructing apprentices, contributing to environmentally positive outcomes as part of Canada’s green job initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
– Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing, water supply, and drainage systems
– Prepare tenders and quotations
– Instruct apprentices
– Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures
– Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings
– Join pipes using various methods (couplings, clamps, screws, etc.)
– Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment
– Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
– Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
– Estimate costs and materials
– Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size
Qualifications:
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience:
– 1 year to less than 2 years
Skills:
– Knowledge of plumbing systems
– Strong organisational and scheduling skills
– Teamwork and leadership abilities to instruct apprentices
