Job Description:
Placer Auctions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Antique Description Writer & Researcher to join our remote team. As a key contributor to our online auction house, you will be responsible for researching and writing engaging descriptions of antique items, including furniture, art, tools, and other collectibles. This freelance position allows you to work from the comfort of your home with flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough online research to accurately identify and describe antique items based on provided photographs.
- Write clear, engaging descriptions highlighting key details such as age, materials, craftsmanship, historical significance, and condition.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure all descriptions meet company standards and are optimized for auction listings.
- Produce high-quality descriptions within set deadlines.
- Invoice for your services on a per-item payment basis.
Requirements:
- Strong background in online research, particularly in antiques, collectibles, or a related field.
- Ability to analyze and describe a wide range of antique items, from furniture to tools.
- Excellent written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail, grammar, and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using online tools for research and communication.
- Must be able to invoice for completed work (per-item basis).
