Job Description/Overview:
The Plumber will handle installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems for various construction projects. This position is classified as a green job, contributing to Canada’s net-zero environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:
– Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing layouts.
– Prepare tenders and quotations.
– Instruct apprentices.
– Locate and mark pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
– Cut openings to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
– Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering and welding equipment.
– Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment.
– Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
– Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
– Estimate costs and materials.
– Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required sizes.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
– Work must be completed on-site. No option for remote work.
Work Environment:
– Construction site work with responsibilities related to positive environmental outcomes.
Qualifications:
– Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
– Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Salary:
– $30.30 hourly, 40 hours per week.
