Job Description/Overview
BrightSpark Learning Centre is seeking Primary Education Tutors in Melbourne, Australia for English, Maths, Phonics, and Chinese subjects. We offer a sponsorship and full-time position for the right candidates who meet the qualifications. The role involves teaching students in 1-on-1 or small group settings, planning classes, assigning and marking homework, and communicating with parents about students’ progress. Collaboration with other teams to ensure continuity in learning is also essential.
Key Responsibilities
– Teach students individually or in small groups
– Plan lessons and assign homework
– Provide feedback on students’ progress to parents
– Stay updated with curriculum changes and best educational practices
– Collaborate with teams to integrate tutoring sessions
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in university
– Current Working with Children Check (WWC) & Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
– ABN (or willingness to apply)
– Mandarin-English bilingual candidates or VIT teachers prioritised
Experience
– Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring young people
– Understanding of the Victorian curriculum and VCAA study design
Skills
– Strong knowledge of relevant subject matter
– Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
– Passion for teaching and patience to work with primary and secondary school students
