Job Description/Overview:
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County is seeking a Safety Security Officer for their Riverhead location. The role involves ensuring safety and security protocols, handling confidential information, and providing effective communication across various channels.
Key Responsibilities:
– Ensure efficient office operations related to safety and security
– Handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity
– Plan and organize personal work responsibilities
– Communicate effectively through verbal, written, and visual channels
– Work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity
– Adhere to flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
Qualifications needed:
– Associate’s degree plus relevant experience, or High School diploma/GED with 1 year transferable experience
– Former or retired NY State Police Officer preferred
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Zoom
– Ability to handle confidential information and work with a high degree of integrity
Experience:
– At least 1 year of security or police experience preferred

– Strong organizational and communication skills
– Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle technical issues
