Job Description/Overview:
As an Electrical Fitter/Electrician, you will be able to communicate confidently and have a great eye for detail. You will be a part of an experienced team to construct and maintain electrical equipment to customer requirements in distribution and some substation environments. This role will report to the Project Supervisor and will be based at our Matamata Depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing electrical work according to regulations
- Installing new equipment such as ground mount switches and transformers with associated pillar boxes
- Inspecting, fault finding, and fixing HV and LV electrical equipment
- Keeping accurate records and reporting work done; GPS recording of new equipment
- Identifying issues and providing effective solutions
- Conducting precise job scoping and planning
- Assisting with repairs, maintenance and periodic inspections
- Identifying and solving potential problems
Qualifications needed
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
- A current practicing license as a registered electrician
- The physical stamina for the job and a strong commitment to health and safety
- A New Zealand driver’s license
