Job Description/Overview:
Daily Kos, a leading liberal online political community and activism hub, seeks a Freelance Designer to contribute to the evolution of dailykos.com and related products. The role involves creating wireframes, comps, and Figma files to enhance website designs and support user participation.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with product and technology teams to understand project requirements.
– Produce wireframes and design solutions within the existing design system.
– Document work as needed and ensure timely delivery of small projects.
– Engage with the user community to understand perspectives and needs.
– Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers and stakeholders.
Qualifications needed:
– Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
– Understanding of Agile and Scrum development practices.
– Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
– Knowledge of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
– Proficiency in HTML and CSS is a plus.
Experience:
– At least 3 years of experience in design, with a portfolio of comparable work.
– Experience working with remote teams and managing diverse stakeholder interests.
Skills:
– Ability to create user flows, journey maps, and design prototypes.
– Comfort with analyzing large data sets to extract meaningful insights.
