Job Description/Overview:
We are Canberra’s top rated alterations and dry cleaners, looking for professional and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. We have full-time and casual dry cleaner positions available.
Key Responsibilities
Garment Inspection: Examine garments and textiles to identify stains, damage, fabric types, and care labels, determining the appropriate cleaning methods.
Stain Treatment: Pre-treat stains and spots on garments using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques to ensure effective removal without damaging the fabric.
Operating Cleaning Equipment: Operate dry cleaning machines, washers, and pressing machines according to established procedures, ensuring garments are cleaned thoroughly.
Quality Control: Inspect cleaned garments for any remaining stains, damage, or quality issues, ensuring each item meets the company’s quality standards before returning to customers.
Pressing and Finishing: Press and finish garments using steamers, irons, and pressing machines to remove wrinkles and restore the shape and appearance of the clothing.
Customer Service: Interact with customers to receive orders, provide information on services, and address any concerns or special requests they may have regarding their garments.
Garment Handling: Sort and categorize garments based on fabric type, color, and cleaning requirements, ensuring items are handled with care to avoid damage.
Inventory Management: Track and manage customer orders, ensuring garments are correctly tagged, processed, and returned to the correct customers.
Record Keeping: Maintain records of customer orders, cleaning processes, and any special instructions, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals, as well as adhering to environmental standards.
Repair and Alteration: Perform minor repairs and alterations on garments, such as sewing buttons, fixing zippers, or hemming, as requested by customers.
Maintaining Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on dry cleaning machines, pressing equipment, and other tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
Customer Order Pickup and Delivery: Manage customer pickups and deliveries, ensuring orders are ready on time and handled with care during transportation.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to garment damage, customer complaints, or service delays in a professional and timely manner.
Staying Updated on Industry Practices: Keep up-to-date with the latest dry cleaning techniques, fabric care, and industry trends to provide the best possible service.
Qualifications needed:
- Prior dry cleaning experience is highly desirable but not a requirement. (Informal training can be provided on the job)
- We are looking for dedicated individuals for long term employment.
