Key Responsibilities
- Moving carcasses to freezers and chillers
- Packing and loading meat
- Meat processing, cutting, trimming, deboning, grinding, mincing and shaping
- Completing quality checks as required and follow production guidelines and specifications
- Shape, lace and tie roasts, using boning knife, skewer and tine
- Operating machines to mince, grind and tenderize meat
- Wash down processing rooms
- Working as a team to meet production targets
- Create or acquire labels for each packet by ensuring that type, date of expiry and weight is mentioned
- Maintain machinery and other equipment such as knives
- Performing other processing tasks as assigned.
- Other butcher tasks as required
Qualifications needed
- Minimum 3 years Butchery experience or equivalent of a NZ Cert in Meat Processing
- Able to work with Lamb and Beef
- Team Player
- Physically Fit
- Working on your feet and conducting repetitive movement
